Before
long, I was home. I scurried up the stairs, and tried to change into my
pajamas. Human didn't have time to change me before she went off in the
morning, so I knew she would be suspicious if I wasn't in my pajamas.
Then I heard a door bang and Human's voice.
"I'm home, Mom! I'm going up to my room to change." The she started running up the stairs.
My heart pounded. What will I do? I thought frantically.
OK, Esther, think fast. I told myself as I looked around the room frantically, wondering what to do. I strained my ears to hear a glimpse of Human's voice.
"'Kay, Mom, I'll be down in a sec. Just let me put my backpack in my room."
OK, so, apparently she had to do something in which she would only enter the room for a brief period of time. (yep, I get all techy when I'm nervous =) So, if I would act as if she had placed me on my bed the previous day, maybe she would think that's where she had put me! I scrambled onto my bed and sat in a very awkward position and tensely held my breath. The footsteps came closer, and closer, and closer and - open! The door swung open and Human came in, threw her book-bag near my head, and walked over to her closet and picked out a pretty floral dress. She changed out of her school clothes and into the floral-print dress in probably less than a minute, and then she was out the door. I breathed an audible sigh of relief. Sometimes, Human doesn't notice a lot of things when she's in a hurry. Well, I thought as I stood up, What should I do now?
This is fantastic :)
