How I Made a Doll-Sized Suitcase

Hey everyone! Today I was cleaning out some of my drawers (they tend to get very messy :) and as I was cleaning, I stumbled upon something that I probably would've thrown away, but stopped because I was like, "Hmm, how could I DIY this?" Yes, that's what my mind does :) Anyways, a couple Christmases ago, one of my best friend's little sister gave me a Lip Smacker Kit type of thing. It was a little container and since I had used up all of the stuff that came with it, it was literally trash. But I thought it could almost pass as a doll-sized suitcase, the only problem was it didn't have a handle and it had the "Lip Smacker" logo on the front. So as I DIYed (is that a word? It should be)  I took pictures of it. So let's get started!

Isn't it super cute?

So this is what it looked like before.

Step 1. I took a piece of foam that matched the colors of the container pretty well,  and estimated how far into it I wanted the foam to go.

Step 2. I flipped the container over and traced around the side on the foam.

Step 3. I folded the foam in half horizontally.

Step 4. I cut it out and hot glued each piece of foam to either side that way it wouldn't look too odd with just one side having the foam.

So this is what it looked like. I trimmed a little around the edges until I liked it. Then it needed a handle.

This is where I planned to attach the handle.

Step 5. I cute a strip of foam around 5 1/4" long and hot glued both ends to the top.

And wah lah! You're finished! (Sorry for the horrible lighting)

Now Esther is ready to travel the world!  :)

Did you like it? Have you ever made anything like it?
Thanks for reading and God bless <3 p="">

  2. Cute idea! I like it! Actually, I have made something like it. I once made a doll-sized lunch box out of a mint tin.
